Protesters took to the streets in cities across the Sudan to vent their anger over the military coup on 25 October 2021, led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who took control of the government. The Security Forces and Rapid Support Forces (Gangaweed) used live bullets to disperse protestors. Tens of civilians were killed and hundreds were injured.
