Military forces, Rapid Support forces also known as Janjaweed militias, and security forces repeatedly use excessive force, including lethal force and live bullets, against demonstrators in the different Sudanese cities following October 2021 Sudanese coup d'état . Tens were shot dead and hundreds were injured. According to the Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors, most death cases were due to shots in the head and chest. Several videos and photos show that snipers from the security forces were targeting protest leaders and activists. Protesters continue taking to the streets in peacful protests demanding freedom, peace, and justice in a democratic system despite the violent response and atrocity of the military led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the general who is responsible for the Khartoum sit-in massacre June 3, 2019.
